Dr. Richard A. Caner

Dr. Richard Caner received his medical degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford, IL. He completed an internship and residency program in Anesthesiology at the University of South Florida College of Medicine and completed his fellowship in Pain Management at Rush Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, IL. Dr. Caner is Board Certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Management.

Dr. Caner has practiced pain management in Lake County since 2000. He is affiliated with Advocate Condell Hospital as well as Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village. He has a special interest in radiofrequency ablation, intrathecal pumps, spinal cord stimulation, vertebral augmentation, and more recently, with ketamine/lidocaine infusion therapy.

In 2010, Dr. Caner retired from the Army National Guard with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel after 22 years of dedicated service. In his spare time, Dr. Caner enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and his dog Diesel as well as skiing, marksmanship, and reading.
